Get seated and settled - Class Intro (5 mins)
Read/Listen to Lesson/Story and review Demo board exercises (20 mins)
Students play on individual boards with partners. (25 mins)

Regroup/Debrief for review and awards for daily challenges completed. (5 mins)
Summary: Briefly review of last week’s lesson + chess challenge. Cover today’s story, demo board exercises + review questions, and the daily challenge.
Story + Demo Board Exercises/ Puzzles: Story: The Bull Rooks team up with King Mateo and friends too explore the Night Realm. They demonstrate how their force fields & Pillars of Power can be of use. King grants Puppy Pawns a new power.
Demo board: Briefly review how the Bull Rooks move, capture, and block. Demonstrate how the Rooks use force fields + Pillars of Power. Show how ‘good friends defend’ by building pawn chains. Demonstrate Pawn Promotion (Butterfly Mode). Do “How many moves” puzzles with the Rooks (how many moves it takes to get from A to B using chess addresses + how many move it takes to capture a specific piece. Show how force fields ‘travel’

Practical Skills Learned:
How to see and use force fields + Pillars of Power with the Bull Rooks. How to work as a team. How to enable butterfly mode. Further strengthen our ability to use chess code/chess addresses.

Daily Challenge:
Capture a King, Create a ‘Pillar of Power’ +/or Promote a Pawn (Pawn Promotion/Activate Butterfly Mode)

Demo Board Setup and Explanations:
Board 1: Today we’ll play with Force Fields and Pillars of Power! Let’s see if you can wield yours!
Draw a thick line over the paths where the Rooks force fields’ can travel.
Don’t forget that their force fields travel in four directions at the same time - up and down, plus side to side.
Remember: Anything that falls inside the Bull Rooks force fields, can potentially be captured!
Board 2: How do the Rooks form a Pillar of Power? What do they have to do first? (Come together, preferably in the center of their back rank.)
Now, draw a thick line over the paths where the Rooks force fields’ can travel. Are they more powerful together or apart?
